Meet Dr. Michelle Grimes

Clinical Child Psychologist
Dr. Grimes provides evidence-based treatments to youth and families. She utilizes specialty treatments for concerns related to disruptive behavior, anxiety and OCD, sleep issues, and more. Dr. Grimes commonly utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Behavioral Parent Training (BPT), as well as behavioral and systems approaches in her professional work.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Idaho State University.
Dr. Grimes completed an APA Accredited internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute/University of Nebraska Medical Center. During this internship she received specialty training in behavioral pediatrics and pediatric sleep disorders. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During this fellowship she received advanced training in child behavior disorders and interventions to support parents. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Grimes is engaged in university teaching and research.
Dr. Grimes was born and raised in the Mat-Su Valley. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and engaging in the occasional Netflix binge.
